Naturalist Guided Kayak Tours
Take the whole family on a guided pedal kayak trip!
Take a guided 4 hour kayak tour with a stop at Turn Island for hiking, beach combing, and a picnic! Our staff naturalist will accompany you as you depart the marina in Friday Harbor, and will explain both the local history and ecology as you meander to Turn Island State Park. Along the way you may see bald eagles, giant jellyfish, or even a harbor seal or two! Upon arriving at Turn Island, stretch your legs on a nature walk, have some lunch and/or poke along the shoreline for inter tidal creatures! We offer a fun, hands-on experience which can be adapted to suit your family or group.
This is a great trip for a family. The Hobie kayaks are extremely stable, roomy and easy to pedal. Even small children can pedal the kayaks, and paired up in a tandem with an adult, will be able to burn off some of that extra energy. We can provide dip nets, viewing jars, and laminated natural history cards to help kids enjoy learning about the unique shoreline environment in the San Juans.
