Friday Harbor History Cruise

Beginning June 18th, we will be offering a one-hour long cruise on our quiet and comfortable Duffy electric boats, during which you will view historic photos of the Friday Harbor waterfront, from the water, and learn a bit of the interesting history of this island community.  Seating is limited to 6, so reservations are suggested.  The Duffy boats are fully enclosed and heated, and are comfortable in any weather conditions.

Turn Island Hike and Picnic

This great family activity combines kayaking, hiking, and picnicing.  First, we will introduce you to the amazing Hobie Mirage Drive kayak, with a comfortable reclining padded seat, and the fast and powerful pedal drive.  Next, our naturalist will accompany your group as you depart our docks, and explain some of the local history as you explore the inner harbor on your way to Turn Island State Park.  After beaching your kayaks, take a 45 minute hike around the beautiful jewel of Turn Island, stopping to discover the secrets of the tidepools and rocky beaches.  Then, relax for a few minutes on the beach, enjoying a picnic lunch and beverage.  After resting, relaunch the kayaks, and cruise the seal rocks, tombolos, and reefs of the surrounding cove, then head back to Friday Harbor, checking out Brown Island on the way back.

This trip is suitable for all ages.  The Hobie kayaks are extremely stable, and the pedal drive ids faster than paddling, and as easy as a stair stepper.  We have a variety of kayak options, and can configure a tandem to carry an adult and child, or even put on an electric Evolve drive to propel a kayak without any effort.

Gather up a picnic basket of goodies from King’s Market Deli, select some tasty bottles of local wines from San Juan Vineyards, and head out into San Juan Channel to float serenely in a quiet electric boat, as you sit on comfortable cushions around a dining table.
